Will Ontario announce plans to end seasonal clock changes before the March 14, 2027 spring-forward?
Currently 17% Yes. Closes March 13, 2027.
Chances
- Yes — 17%
- No — 83%
Rules
- Resolves Yes if, between this market's creation and 11:59 p.m. Toronto time on March 13, 2027, the Ontario government (premier, a minister, a government bill or regulation, or proclamation of the 2020 Time Amendment Act) officially announces it will stop seasonal clock changes for the Eastern-zone part of the province, including Toronto.
- The announcement must commit Ontario to ending the changes. Statements that Ontario is open to the idea, is studying it, or will wait for Quebec and New York do not count. The northwestern Ontario plan to stay on one time year-round, announced in October 2026, does not count.
- The deciding sources are the Government of Ontario newsroom and Ontario e-Laws, with major outlets such as CBC used to confirm. If no such announcement is made by the deadline, the market resolves No.
