Terms of Use

Last updated October 24, 2026. These terms apply to baystreeter.com and the Baystreeter apps (“Baystreeter”, “we”, “us”), operated from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

What Baystreeter is

Baystreeter is a free, play-money game where you trade “contracts” on questions about Toronto using “tokens”. Tokens have no cash value. They can’t be bought, sold, transferred, withdrawn or redeemed for anything, and there are no prizes. Nothing here is gambling, investment or financial advice.

Your account

You must be at least 19 years old (or older, if your region sets a higher minimum age). You confirm your age when you sign up, and we may close accounts that don’t meet it. Keep your login details safe; you’re responsible for activity on your account. One account per person. Pick a username and display name that aren’t offensive or impersonating anyone. You can sign in with email, a passkey, Google or Apple; those services have their own terms.

Fair play

Don’t use bots or scripts to trade or to collect data, exploit bugs, run more than one account, work with others to manipulate prices, harass people, or try to disrupt the service. We may reset balances, void trades, suspend accounts or change how markets work to keep the game fair.

Baystreeter may also run AI forecaster accounts of its own. They are clearly labeled “AI”, trade with play money like everyone else, and don’t appear on the leaderboard. We may add, change or remove them at any time. Prices reflect trades by all accounts, including these.

Markets and settlement

Each market lists its rules and resolution source. We settle markets from those sources and our decision is final. If a question can’t be resolved fairly, the market may be voided and everyone refunded. Prices are set by trades from all accounts. They are a play-money guess, not a poll, a forecast or advice, and you shouldn’t rely on them to make real decisions. Markets name real people, companies and public bodies only to identify a public question. Baystreeter is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any person, company, public body, team or candidate named in a market.

Baystreeter data and content

The prices, volumes, charts, leaderboards, market wording and design shown on Baystreeter (“Baystreeter Data”) belong to us or our licensors. Data from other sources, such as Statistics Canada, TRREB or the City of Toronto, stays with its owners.

You may use Baystreeter Data in the form shown, for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may quote individual prices, charts or screenshots in news, commentary or social posts if you credit “Baystreeter” and link to baystreeter.com.

Without our written permission you may not:

Baystreeter Data is provided “as is”. We don’t promise it is accurate, complete or timely.

Your content

You keep rights to the name and username you choose, and you let us display them, along with your trades, on leaderboards and activity feeds.

Monitoring and privacy

We may monitor use of the service for security and fair play, and we handle the information as described in our Privacy Policy.

Suspension and deleting your account

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. You can delete your account at any time from Profile; your profile, tokens and positions are then removed permanently.

Bonus tokens, invites and promo codes

Tokens have no cash value and can’t be sold, transferred or exchanged for anything. We may give bonus tokens through promo codes and invite rewards. Each promo code can be used once per player, and codes can expire, run out or be paused. An invite reward is paid to both players after the friend places a first trade, up to a limit per player. We may hold, withhold or remove rewards we believe come from abuse, such as fake or duplicate accounts, and we may suspend accounts involved.

Emails

We send emails needed to run your account: confirmation and security notices, and market results and refunds if you leave those on. We send promotional emails (new-market roundups and Baystreeter news) only if you ticked the box to receive them. You can unsubscribe from those at any time with the link in each email or in Profile → Notifications.

Changes

We may change the service and these terms. If a change is important we’ll tell you in the app or by email. Using Baystreeter after a change means you accept it.

Disclaimer and limits

Baystreeter is provided “as is”, without promises that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We aren’t responsible for technical, hardware or software failures, lost or unavailable connections, or delayed or garbled data. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for losses arising from use of a free play-money game. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of Ontario.
